Renée Phillips ~ Author, Writer, Director of Manhattan Arts International
Managing Editor of this blog, Phillips is the author of several books including the best-selling "The Complete Guide to New York Art Galleries". She began writing about art and organizing exhibitions as a student at the Art Student's League. She has presented keynote speeches in many art institutions including the Art Institute of Chicago, Heckscher Museum, Columbia University, and NYFA. As an adjust faculty member of Marymount Manhattan College she conducted “The Successful Artist of the New Millennium”. For seven years she presented a standing room only workshop "How to Break Into New York Art Galleries". She served as Editor-in-Chief of Manhattan Arts International magazine for 17 years, which she launched to promote under-recognized artists. She is the founder/director of Manhattan Arts International www.ManhattanArts.com. Phillips is a member of the International Association of Art Critics and writes for Professional Artist magazine.

Edward Rubin ~ International Arts Writer, Curator and Artist
A New York based writer, Rubin's writings have appeared in many magazines such as Art & Antiques, ArtUS, dART International, Canadian Art, ArtNexus, Flash Art, Hispanic Outlook, and Sculpture, as well as foreign magazines and online venues www.artesmagazine.com and www.huma3.com. He is an active member of the prestigious International Association of Art Critics (AICA). As a curator, his exhibition, "Anne Ferrer: Billowing Beauty", presented at the The Lab Gallery in New York City, was nominated for the Best Show in a Commercial Gallery by AICA, USA. Rubin's photographs and collages have been exhibited at museums and galleries in the US and Europe including such venues as the Contemporary Art Museum in Baltimore, MD and many NYC galleries.

Carole Sorell ~ Public Relations Expert and Arts Advocate
Sorell is founder, president President of Carole Sorell Incorporated www.carolesorellinc.com. Her clients have included Fortune 500 companies. She also works with artists, performers and not-for- profits. Previously she was Assistant Commissioner of Public Affairs, Department of Cultural Affairs, New York City. She also served as Vice President of the American Council for the Arts.  She served on President Clinton's Leadership Team advocating for arts education. She has worked with major personalities and celebrities which include Presidents Clinton and Reagan (working with White House staff), Betty Ford and Joan Mondale, prime ministers Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres, Alexander Calder and John Houseman, Garth Brooks, and most recently -- John Mellencamp.

Barbara Markoff ~ Author, Art Consultant, Owner of Artrageous!, and Writer
Markoff is a corporate art consultant based in San Diego, California. Along with husband, Rob Markoff, she owns Artrageous! www.theartconsultant.biz, an art and framing consulting business established in 1981. Markoff regularly works with business owners, high-level executives, architects, project managers, interior designers, and administrators to develop art programs specifically tailored to their type of business. She offers a full range of services to her clients. She conducts seminars on the subject of corporate art sales and networking at the West Coast Art and Frame Expo. She is the author of Becoming A Corporate Art Consultant, The Handbook For Corporate Art Consultation. Many of her articles have been published in Picture Framing Magazine.

Terry Sullivan ~ Writer, Editor, Artist, Musician and Author
Sullivan  is the editor of Professional Artist magazine and is a writer who has worked in the photo and technology industries for more than a decade. He’s also a photographer, musician and artist, whose oil and pastel paintings have been included in a number of gallery and museum exhibitions, including group shows at the Heckscher Museum of Art, in Huntington, New York, and the New York State Museum in Albany, New York. He has taught many art workshops at the Art League of Long Island, in Dix Hills, New York, and is the author of the book The Best of Sketching & Drawing. Cornelia Seckel ~ Publisher, Juror, Arts Advocate and Public Speaker
Seckel is the publisher of ART TIMES, a publication she co-founded with Raymond J. Steiner in 1984 that serves the cultural corridor of the Northeast and provides commentary and resources for all the arts. Her work has always been with people and information, connecting people with themselves, other individuals and organizations whether she was teaching Secondary school, working at crisis intervention centers, or career counseling. Currently she is affiliated with The National Association of Women Artists as Honorary Vice President and Board member; and member of: The Silurians; Artists Fellowship, Inc.; ArtTable, Inc.; Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, NYC; Pen & Brush, NY; and NOW. In addition to her work with ART TIMES, she frequently judges art shows and gives talks to Arts Organizations on various topics including “How to get the attention of the Media”.

Maureen E. Doallas ~ Collector, Author, Writer, Poet and Art Business Owner
An avid collector of art and fine press books, Doallas posts daily at Writing Without Paper, primarily about literary, visual, and performing arts. She was a features writer and editor for more than three decades, working in such diverse fields as international healthcare, education, and employment law. Doallas is the author of Neruda’s Memoirs: Poems (T.S. Poetry Press, 2011). Her poems have appeared in the anthologies Open to Interpretation: Water’s Edge and Oil and Water. . . And Other Things That Don’t Mix, in Felder Rushing’s book Bottle trees, and at Every Day Poems, TweetSpeakPoetry, The Victorian Violet Press & Journal, VerseWrights, The Beautiful Due, Poets for Living Waters, the sad red earth, Escape Into Life, and Red Lion Square. She is the owner of Transformational Threads, which sells custom, limited-edition hand-embroidery of licensed images of original fine art.

Karyn A. Meyer-Berthel ~ Artist, Art Material Expert, Social Media Developer and Blogger
A painter and art material researcher, Karyn A. Meyer-Berthel www.karynmeyer.com has worked in the fine arts industry for over 14 years. After completing her MFA in scenic art, and working nationally on the regional theatre circuit, she taught art at Piedmont Community College. Her work at the National Gallery of Art in the conservation department with the Mellon Art Materials Collection gave her an exposure to one of the largest art material collections in existence. Meyer-Berthel has worked in online publishing and video production for both American Artist and The Artist Magazine before becoming a social media developer and blogger for some of the top art material manufacturers in the world. Joining ASTM, American Standards of Testing and Materials, in 2006 has given her an insider’s look at the manufacturing process and the companies that desire to improve the quality of art materials. She writes for both Ampersand Art Supply and FM Brush, Inc. As part of her ongoing research and her own artwork, she constantly spends time evolving her own studio focused on creating long lasting and improved quality art. 

Raymond Steiner ~ Art Critic, Editor, Author and Artist
Steiner is an art critic/ reviewer for ART TIMES, a literary journal he helped found in 1984 and for which he serves as Editor. In addition to authoring hundreds of essays, reviews, critiques, and several books, he has lectured extensively on various topics. He is also an accomplished landscape painter and has exhibited his work in solo and group shows. His many published works include The Vessel of Splendor: A Return to the One; The Girl Who Couldn't See (a book for young adults); 23 Woodstock Artists; Quarry Rubble (a book of poetry); The Art Students League of New York: A History; and The Mountain, a novel; among others. His works have been translated into many different languages. He is a member of the American Society of Aesthetics, Salmagundi Club, Artist Fellowship, Inc., the International Association of Art Critics, and the Hudson Valley Art Assn.

Marilyn Green ~ Artist,  Writer, Educator, Director of Trinity Wall Street's Movement Choir
Marilyn Green www.marilyngreenart.com brings together more than 30 years of work in visual arts, music and dance to create moving art on universal themes. She has taught art, art history and writing in numerous universities and colleges, including New York University and has lectured extensively on art and humanities at universities in the U.S. and Britain. Her degrees in music and art, and her decades of dedication to sacred dance bring together oil paintings, masks, costumes and hypnotic movement to convey powerful emotion in ritual. Green is the director of Trinity Wall Street's Movement Choir. At the core of the group is a focus on movement as worship, a reclaiming of the community and tribal spiritual dance. Marilyn Green is also a freelance writer and editor, and member of the Society of American Travel Writers, International Food, Wine and Travel Writers Association, and National Writers Union.
